Here is my poster for the Fantasy Brief, as you can see I have been developing and making improvements to it. I have taken into consideration poster techniques that we learnt about in previous lessons. I decided to keep my poster simple as sometimes more can be said by adding less. The main object in the series is the Flame of Oblivion, (the orange stone) I have tried to centralise this in the middle of the poster, the two characters in my series are fighting for this stone so they are an important part of the poster and are also in the middle of the poster, this creates a point of focus. I have used black space to draw attention to what is important. The colours I have used are eye-catching but not too bright, I have tried to use colours from the same colour palette so it all works well together, the title matches the flames at the bottom of the poster, it mirrors it. I think that the composition of the poster is well balanced and it speaks for its self.

The final poster:
I took and agreed with the feedback I got from the online session where we looked at each other’s work for our briefs and added a glow effect on the title, fixed Zeph’s arm, added shading in most places. When I showed it during the lesson a couple of people suggested that the title needs to stand out more, as it looked a little small and lost. One of the suggestions was to get rid of ‘The’ and just have ‘Flame of Oblivion’ I agreed this would work better and automatically increase the size of the font. Another suggestion was adding a glow to the text, I tried this and really liked the end result as it mirrored the flames nicely. I decided to improve the arm on the right-hand side of the poster, as someone suggested I used a reference for this, I found an image on the internet and this helped me draw my arm with more detail. I also added shading to the arms, stone and swords to improve the look, make them look more realistic. I am pleased with how my poster has progressed, I can see clearly the changes have made great improvement.

Again, Alex great work here, don’t forget to talk about why you added the glow to the text on your poster, Peer feedback etc. 🙂
