Flame Of Oblivion animation

The blog post for my fantasy brief animation will be a full-on scene where Zeph and Bartosz are about to have a major battle in the city of men. The final animation will have music and sound effects and voice lines. This post will be updated whenever I have done more work for the animation. All 6 scenes have the fire and smoke effect I learned from a previous online lesson.

Early scene:

I decided to take feedback from an online session where we showed our work for our briefs and I added a floor and a backdrop, this was brought up by a member in my class. I agreed with the feedback I got as this improved the end result very much and made it more realistic and visually pleasing, adding more interest for the viewer. Also, I could easily use it to fix any problems in my animation:

Lowered the opacity of the buildings:

I placed the smoke in front of Bartosz as evil is often portrayed as dark, dirty and mysterious and I wanted to show him emerging from the destruction but Zeph is coming from the light to combat the darkness so I showed him outside the smoke:

I took feedback from an online session where the assets were blurry so I fixed them and made them HD:

An early scene, I used the wiggle expression to move his mouth on the 4th frame:

An early scene, Now with a camera that zooms in on Zeph’s face to add more depth:

  1. This is looking great Alex keep up the good work. Remember when talking about adding a floor and a backdrop to your work after getting feedback, you should mention where the feedback came from, and possibly talk about whether or not you agreed with it etc… Great work though again 🙂
