Flare
Next, i experimented with the flare deform tool.
I follwed the same steps as last time to get to the right menu, and selected the ‘Flare’ option from the deform nonlinear menu.
Doing this created this settings box in the attribute editor where i could flare and curve the oblong shape using the sliders.
I found this tool usefulĀ for creating pyramid shapes with the co-ordinate sliders, and using the curve slider i was able to create vase-like shapes shown below.
I can see this tool being useful for modelling environments – specifically buildings and furniture.
Sine
Once again using the nonlinear drop down menu, i selected ‘sine’ and i could now use these new sliders to deform my original oblong.
Sine treats the object like a wave, with the values for wavelength, amplitude and offset being manipulatable and animatable.
AC3 (Skills and Production)
You have shown a huge variety of Skills workshop blog posts so well done. After reviewing a variety of your different skills posts, I have found that most of them appear to be a little unfinished, lacking a little structure and with minimal information. You should always make a point of refining and tweaking your blog post so that they introduce the skill you are learning, show visual examples of it being used, and then talk about how the skills learned might be useful to your A1 fantasy Brief or any other production work moving forward. You are showing a solid range of visual evidence, which shows good solid work but you need to better structure the blogs and give more detailed explanations. You are currently working to a PASS standard for this outcome. But with a little push on the blogs and good production work for your Creative project you can easily improve this. Well done on your efforts.
