Celebrate

After one year at Confetti, I have progressed and learned so much, and I am so happy with the work that I have managed to create. For the longest time, I felt that I wasn’t doing what I loved and I wasn’t developing in areas that were important to me, such as working with industry-standard programs and animating. The choice to come to this college was to change that, prepare me better for the future, and finally work on projects that I will genuinely enjoy, and it was one of the best steps I took, because I have been doing exactly those things. 2020 came with its own unique set of challenges, and at times, it was definitely difficult to continue. I struggled with motivation and energy, concentration and time management and I felt that I could have produced much better pieces of work at times. Despite that, I am happy that I experienced these challenges, because I found a way to power through, as did many of my peers and ultimately, it made us more prepared for similar situations in the future. On that same topic, the people I have met have all been incredible. Creative, friendly, passionate and interesting, everybody on this course is an awesome individual, who has a lot to bring to the industry, and I look forward to working on more projects with them. Of course, I cannot forget the amazing teachers either, who have made this whole experience much more exciting and fun, alongside, marking, reviewing, discussing, planning and preparing, and helping us along the entire way. I could not have progressed with them.

Thank you to Everyone!

To celebrate, I am happy to present the work that I have chosen to put together for my end of year showreel and display on the website. It was tough narrowing down!

BB8 – Term 1. Traced in Adobe Illustrator, to learn how to use the program, and practise working with the pen tool.

Whitney Houston Portrait – Term 1. Created in Adobe Illustrator with a layering style in B&W.

Fantasy Environment Concept Art – Term 2. Created in Photoshop to learn about perspective and landscape theory.

Chained King Fantasy Concept Art – Term 2. Created in Photoshop as a form of silhouette character art.

Armour Concepts – Term 2. I created these in Photoshop as concept designs for one of my main character’s armour.

Age of Umbra Poster – Term 2. Created in Photoshop for the final pieces of media in the fantasy project.

Final Character Design Sheet – Term 3. I drew this in Photoshop as well, after solidifying my character design.

Character Portrait Sketch & Final – Term 3. This is the same character, drawn close-up in Photoshop as a reference for my animation.

Setting Concept Art – Term 3. Once again in Photoshop, I created this as inspiration for a particular scene in my animation on culture.

Artist’s World Poster – Term 3. Lastly, I made this poster for my culture project in Photoshop.

As well as artwork, I also created a bio for my profile on Celebrate, and a showreel with various pieces of animation and VFX.

Bio

Hello, my name is Tina and I am currently a first-year at Confetti College, studying VFX and Animation. My goal is to become a 2D animator, production designer or visual development artist and I am working on improving my skills in art and various animation and editing programs. I enjoy drawing, writing and photography and more recently, dabbling in digital art. In the future, I want to create interesting stories and characters and I would love to make people happy with my work.

Thank you for reading! Check out more of my work on my blog, Youtube or Linkedin.

Showreel

This is the channel trailer for my Youtube channel. It is essentially just my showreel, but I have changed the end card for privacy purposes. To see my original end card, go to the Celebrate website via Confetti. Thanks!
