Target Audience Profile

Target Audience refers to the particular group of people that a product is aimed towards. They can be identified through certain demographics, psychographics, general likes and dislikes, and opportunities and challenges relating to the product and audience’s life. A way to do this is to use market research and put a piece of production out into the public to identify who would like it and/or tailor the product to fit a target audience in mind. I go more into depth in the research I have made here on this topic.

To summarise my intended audience, I have created a profile that encompasses some of their key aspects:

Thanks to these traits, I can see that this target audience would be best suited to make my product, because of their preferences and lifestyle. For example, the fact that they feel a little alienated and seek escapism is perfect for a fantasy show which leans heavily on fiction, and for my show specifically, the messages of climbing upwards, fighting a system and feeling lost would resonate well with people who can sometimes make bad choices and can help influence them to perhaps turn things around. Other aspects like favourite colours and music also play into this, but I do need to consider the length of my show, considering that they don’t have a lot of spare time. To help them stay entertained and watching, I will try to keep the episodes exciting and relatively short, instead of mostly being long conversations, which could potentially make the audience fed up/bored and feel that they ought to be doing something else with their time.
