First Week in VFX and Animation

First week proved difficult to acclimate to the new surroundings that I am now stationed in. It feels lonely when there is no one around that you know but in a way I am glad. In a way it’s a fresh new start and not many people get to have that chance.

I am in class XS22-1 and the first day gave me reassurance that everything would be alright. The first task was to create something regarding your favorite film and I drew a movie poster for Pacific Rim, my favorite film. This was due for Tuesday 13th. I made efforts to complete it and it turned out better than expected.

The past couple of days did take a drastic change in tone compared to the first day, which was the 7th. The lessons which were about learning the different software’s I would use in the future have already been proven difficult for me to catch up to speed, considering that this is my first time using anything like this. At the end of the week it felt a little disheartening considering that I felt that I missed on crucial parts and notes. I also have to deal with the fact that I’m alone and that I have to awkwardly leave the room without acknowledging anyone.

In all honesty, I felt pretty let down due to my high expectations but I have to remember that this is the first week. I am willing to learn and pursue this path that I chose and things can change. The only way to go when you’re down is up.
