Different Design Studios Approach To Social Issues

This approach to homelessness is really interesting and eyecatching as they make it appear as if the people are falling when actually they are lying on the pavement. It’s really clever as when you first look you have a completely different idea of what the campaign is about than when you actually take time to properly look at the poster.

Task- Create a poster with a message to raise awareness on a social issue

For my poster, I wanted to make something hard-hitting that grabbed attention so using the pen and ellipse tool I made an image of the world, half normal and half on fire. I used punch phrases under these so when people read it they will feel hard hit and hopefully come to the realisation of what is happening so I made the image quite graphic.

What I like about my poster are the phrases I have used and how I have spaced out my poster so the first thing a person will see is the earth on fire, grabbing their attention and making them read the rest of the poster to find out why it is on fire.

In future, I would also add to my poster what people are doing to the earth to make it catch fire as I believe this would make the poster even more grasping.
