Task – Using a random word generator design a logo wth the word given in Adobe Illustrator
Adjective- Many
When I was given the word ‘many’ the first thing I thought of was a collective of things so I did a stack of circles to begin with using the ellipse tool. From this I thought that the logo needed a colourful background to make it stand out and less bland rather than white shapes being on a white background. To do this I used the pen tool and drew out random shaped blobs which I then filled with different shaddes of blue and lowered the opacity to 60% before sending these to the back of the page so the circles sat on top of the blobs. I then wrote down the word I was given under these shapes in a san serif font to make it appear less boring as to many people maths is boring. There was still something missing in the logo as the circles looked quite empty so I came up with a catchphrase where I could put each word in the circle, I decided to make this logo represent a maths tutoring company.
Noun- News
With the word news I immediately thought of the world because of he events that happen all over it. With this using the ellipse tool I drew the eart and using the pen tool drew rough drawings of each country. I made the background blaack for space but also because it would make my colours pop more. Because each event that happens is important I drew out explanation marks to be coming out of each part in the world to represent different things going off at once like seen in the news.
Designing a brand with word generator
Adjective+Noun- Thirsty Midnight
For the words thirsty midnight I took the adjective thirsty and thoughts of a drinks company but more specifically an alchohol drinks company because of the noun midnight which makes me think of clubs in the nightime. I kept the background of the can dark to stick with the theming of midnight and it being dark wihi the night and used the graphite pen tool to create the impression of stars. I used a serif font to make the brand look more luxury persona on the can.
What I have taken from this lesson is being innovative and fast thinking when given words, this will also come into use when working with clients and they want logos being created just from words.
