I did some blog feedback for my fantasy brief and went through my blog posts about my brief to see what was good or bad about them and where I need to improve. Also, to look at what I thought when I first saw the brief and looking back now: I made a SMART target for my future self to use during the culture brief: The smart target, doing more research, will hopefully help me to get a better understanding of something, which in turn will help with my concept and ideas for it. I will achieve this by watching […]

Fantasy matte painting
In today’s lesson, we made a fantasy matte painting I found an image from the internet and added a castle to the background and a hobbit house to the foreground. I used the clone stamp tool to remove unwanted things from the image or to try and blend newly placed images into the foreground. I added an image to the background and made an adjustment layer so I could remove the background around it with the brush tool. Here is my finished picture: The tools I used were the same as I used in previous photoshop projects. Like the orc/vampire […]

Fantasy Brief R&D, pre-production, skills and production
We have been told to do a fantasy assignment brief where we make some character designs, a poster campaign, a title sequence, and a 10-second animation for a Netflix animated series. For my brief, I have decided on naming the series “The Flame Of Oblivion”. The basic plotline I’ve thought of for this is that there is a city where the main hero Zeph now lives and he seeks to destroy the stones of desire before it gets in the wrong hands and becomes the flame of oblivion, which can cause death and destruction. The series will be split into […]
Fantasy brief

Most fantasy texts use magic or supernatural elements in the main plotlines. Magic and magical creatures are very common in these. The Conventions that are expected to be seen in fantasy are a magic system where things that occur or exist in a story that does not exist in the real […]
