using the reshape tool I followed this method.

1. I imported 2 images
2. I used the pen tool to create masks on each of the images
3. I copied mask 1 from image 2 and pasted this into image 1
4. I copied mask 1 from image 1 and pasted this into image 2
5. I clicked on the first image and went to effects and presets and went to reshape tool and dragged it on.
6. First image I changed the source to mask 1 and changed the destination of mask 2
7. I keyframed the percentage from 0 to 100% I changed the opacity from 100 to 0%
8. The second image I keyframed the percentage from 100 to 0% and the opacity from 0 to 100%
