My chosen culture is theme parks and here are some ideas I have come up with:
I could either make an animation or a vlog at a theme park like Alton Towers for my production project. I am very much interested in making a vlog as I am a thrill seeker who loves roller coasters so it would be great to visit a park, film them, talk about them, and hopefully get to ride some. If I have the time it would be good to incorporate animation with my vlog. This way I can showcase my skills I have learnt so far.
I started by making a mind map to brainstorm some of my ideas about the starting point of theme parks. This took me to look at the history of theme parks and famous theme parks and different roller coaster manufacturers.
I made a mood board to brainstorm some ideas like theme parks and roller coasters:
The above pictures show inspiration and coasters that I would love to ride someday as I am very much a fan of theme parks and especially extreme coasters now that I am older.
I have watched various vlogs on theme parks on Youtube for inspiration too, I think that vlogs work better than blogs as they are more visual, viewers like to see imagery. After all, it is becoming one of the most popular forms of digital entertainment.
Here are a couple of examples of other vlogs I have watched for inspiration:
synopsis: This is just a brief idea, if I do a vlog, I visit a theme park most likely Alton Towers with a friend to learn about the rides and attractions and how they bring guests to their park. The research in this is the facts that I learn about Alton Towers and its current attractions and former attractions. If I do animation, it will be like a travel guide about the top 10 best roller coasters globally and their statistics. I chose this culture because it is a unique idea and there is quite a vast culture in theme parks as a lot of people travel the world for a roller coaster’s opening day, and people like going to theme parks for entertainment and an escape from reality as they get taken into many different themed worlds. Sometimes people enjoy theme parks for a thrilling experience like going on the most intense rides, and some people are not fans of intense rides and they enjoy more gentle rides and roller coasters that don’t have intense airtime and inversions. This is why some theme parks are aimed towards different age groups: some theme parks want their rides to be more towards families, some want their rides to be more intense and thrilling for the roller coaster enthusiasts, some theme parks are a bit of both. People go on roller coasters mainly to experience airtime so most roller coasters have airtime hill elements on them to appease the roller coaster fans.
