Colours I used on Zeph and Bartosz using Adobe Colour:

Zeph has bright colours and stands out more even though he was brought up by the elves and they have more green and brown colours. I chose these colours so he appears different from the elves as Zeph is human. I wanted him to look joyful and kind and for him to stand out to the bad guy. I wanted him to be a total contrast to Bartosz. In the tropes, most commonly heroes wear red and blue too.

Part of Zeph’s design comes from Marth from the Fire Emblem series as both these characters have similar designs. Here is Marth’s colours and as you can see, they are very similar. I liked the colours on Marth and I thought they would work well on my character Zeph as the colours are pleasing to the eye and will make him stand out.

Bartosz has less colour variation and has dark grey colours which make him stand out less and look more evil. I chose the colours because at night, he would appear camouflaged as he is mostly grey in colour so he wouldn’t be seen as easily by his enemies.

I’ve watched various fantasy movies like Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter and I’ve noticed most villains wear grey and dark colours so this will suit Bartosz. Sephiroth, the villain from Final Fantasy 7 was a significant influence on Bartosz’s design as both characters wear dark coloured armour and wield swords.
