The Brief: Netflix have commissioned you to pitch a fantasy pilot for a 2d
animated Netflix Original TV series or film. They would like to see a
character design, title sequence and 10 seconds of animation.

The Fantasy genre features fictional elements that don’t exist in the real world. Most fantasy texts use magic or supernatural elements in the main plotlines. Magic and magical creatures are very common in these.

The Conventions that are expected to be seen in fantasy are a magic system where things that occur or exist in a story that does not exist in the real world, a well-developed setting where the world is completely different from earth, complex characters to get readers interested, and a power structure which is like the government of the world.

The characters you would often see in fantasy are for example the types of characters in Propp’s theory. Like the hero, villain, donor, helper, the false hero, dispatcher, princess, and the princess’s Father.

The settings you would often see in fantasy are otherworldly areas, huge mountains with castles on them with fog all around it.

the plots you would often see in fantasy are good vs evil themes, where the evil characters invade the good characters’ base.

The tech elements you would see in fantasy are in terms of lighting: you would have low-key lighting. in terms of sound: there would be dramatic music for battle scenes, there would be a magical type of music in mysterious worlds  in terms of mise en scene:
