Finding new tools

We looked at different free software to use for our creative projects.

Here is some software I’ve found and how I think this will be useful for my creative project:

GIMP

GIMP is a free and open-source raster graphics editor that may be used for image processing and editing, free-form sketching, image transcoding, and other specialised activities. It is not intended for use as a drawing tool. I could use this for my project as an alternative to Photoshop.

Blender

Blender is a free and open-source 3D computer graphics software suite that may be used for making animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printed models, motion graphics, interactive 3D apps, virtual reality, and computer games. I could use this for my project to make anything 3D related to it, such as character models.

Source Filmmaker

Source Filmmaker on Steam

Source Filmmaker is a 3D computer graphics software kit that uses the Source game engine to create animated films. Over 50 animated clips for Valve’s Source games, including Team Fortress 2, the Left 4 Dead series, and Half-Life 2, were developed using the programme. I could use this for my project If I wanted to make it a 3d animation, but I would need to make the characters in Blender first.
