Overall, I think my project pitch went well. I believe I presented it clearly and explained my project idea in good detail. My feedback was very positive. Here is the feedback I received:
Jacob: “Nicely decorated slides with images to give the audience a good visual feel of your project. You also explained why the project is for you well. My main criticism would be that you spoke a little too fast and were unclear at times. Good range of concept art shown.”
Samir:
Presenting & Body Language – 6/10
Charisma (this being funny jokes, or showing improv) – 2/10
Informative – 7/10
Projected Voice – 5/10
Confidence In You Idea – 8/10
Good Eye Contact – 3/10
- Really informative presentation
- Too much text on slides can be daunting to read as you had to rely on a script
- Slides were too much text, simplifying would be better
- Great pre-production, you did a lot of concepts
Overall you did good, 5/10
Chrissie:
“what you did well: interesting synopsis, good explanation into why, detailed target audience, a wide variety of concept art”
“what you could improve: speak louder, be more confident about it”
Ellie:
“What went well: Good synopsis, A lot of detail on inspirations, A lot of different concept art”
“Improvements: Shorten the amount of text on some slides”
Keebie:
What worked well
“Mechanoids” reminds me of the Janelle Monaé album, titled “The Archanoid”! Your project name is so aspiring! How you utilized your inspirations is what got everything down – Alex, how you outlined why you are doing this project is something! Everything is outlined in detail, and your voice sounded so direct while presenting. May I say that this presentation was also the third-best presentation I sat through!”
Things to improve on
“Nothing you need to improve on Alex, everything was spot on! 😊”
Sam:
“Your pitch is simple, and you showcase your concept art and previous designs to show the audience what you want to achieve. Your schedule is detailed and as well as your concept art. You explain your concept art and your vision in detail to help the audience see what you want to create. Your project is unique to you which is good and the audience can clearly see you’re passionate about it. Your game looks good as well.”
“To improve I’d say reduce the information on some of the slides as it was a lot to read.”
“Overall, good pitch.”
Will:
“Loved the background to your idea you added a lot of detail and have a solid project well done.
The physical concepts were amazing and very unique.”
“you said “like” a lot but apart from that the presentation was very good.”
Lily:
“What went well: Inspirations were explained in good detail, Art style looked cool, You did good research on the demographics”
“Improvements: Speaking wasn’t very clear (its nerves, don’t worry) Could show some concept art next time?”
“Otherwise, well done :)”
Archie:
“Your voice was clear and well projected, you showed good body language and eye contact. Your pitch was interesting and well put together.”
“I love the fact that you added physical concept art to show.”
“well-done Alex!”
Tina:
- Cool name and idea, very creative!
- You could project your voice a bit more and slow down
- I like that you used images with the text – there was so much concept art it was really nice to see
- I noticed you were reading from the slides and there was a looot of text. I’d narrow down and expand whilst speaking only. Also some of the text overlapped with the accents of the powerpoint theme and made it hard to read
- I would have liked to see some bigger images of your inspiration – don’t be afraid to stray from the standard format of a presentation. Make it big and bold from time to time
- In terms of body language, you didn’t really make eye contact with us and were a bit closed off. It created a bit of a disconnect
- The art was colourful and fun and your passion came through far more on that slide
- Having physical versions of your design was awesome
Tegan:
- good slide layout and pictures
- great idea
- gave a good amount of eye contact at the start
- maybe be a bit louder/clearer when speaking
- towards the end you looked at the board more
Lucian:
“your confidence did stutter a little but that is to be expected.”
“your concept art and concept as a whole were splendid and I can’t wait to see them. you were a little quiet at times.”
Evaluation:
From looking at the feedback I got, I should speak more clearly and slow down when talking, and I should cut down the amount of information on the slides as they were a bit much. I showed a lot of concepts and images, which helped support my idea. I should show more eye contact. People liked the physical concepts I showed.
