I made a Voxel Snowy from Tintin in Maya using cubes and snapping them to grid
I could change the pivot point by pressing D, then holding V, and moving it to the corner of the shape

Extruding a shape in Maya:

Select the model and open the modelling toolkit, change to face selection mode, select the top face, press extrude, press the top blue cube to enter scale mode, use the middle yellow cube to scale the face inwards, and press extrude again and move the face down.


How to use multi-cut: select the model, select multi-cut, hold ctrl to cut the shape
