stop trick and pixilation

Persistence of Vision.

Human brains can only process a certain number of images per second.

Persistence of vision occurs when objects are moving too fast for your brain to notice.

An after image appears because there is a delay in what you’re seeing.

Stop Trick.

The stop trick is a technique where a cut in the video is used to create a unique change – eg. someone disappearing and reappearing.

The technique was created by George Melies accidentally when his camera jammed in the middle of filming, causing the subject to disappear from one place and reappear in another.

Pixilation

Pixilation is a stop motion technique where the subject is real people and props, rather than figures. You take images of peeople and play them in succession to create an animated effect.

Here is the work on stop trick that our group did.
