What Was Being Assessed?

In term 1, we started working on our A1 Fantasy brief, and so our tutors assessed our exploration and development of investigation skills for informing ideas – which was Theory and Industry work. They also assessed our exploration and development of problem solving skills (Pre-production), our exploration and development of practical skills (or creative technical skills), exploration and development of professional skills and behaviours (professional development) and finally, our exploration and development of communication skills – which is an assessment of our blogs over all.

My Target Grade.

I would like to achieve the grade PP or higher for this brief, as I believe it is achievable and I am already working towards this grade. This means that if I were to act on the feedback given to me by my tutors (which is a thing that could be done easily) I could achieve a higher grade. I would not be satisfied with a failing grade, because I would like to set my sights on the future and moving on with the course, instead of focusing on work that could have been done at this time.

My Working Towards Grade.

My current working towards grade is PP. As mentioned in the ‘My Target Grade section’, this is the grade that I am working towards.

My Next Steps.

In my Practical Skills (Skills and Production) blog posts, I need to add more detail and information to explain the screenshots I have added to the posts. This will show a more detailed understanding of the things I have been showing in the blogs, instead of just showing my final results from the lesson’s work with no explanation.

In my Pre-production blog posts, I need to identify and analyse a target audience for my Fantasy brief. This is because it is a missing part of the brief’s criteria, and without a completed target audience blog post, my overall grade could be affected.

As for my AC1 (Theory and Industry) blog posts, I need to refine my other blog posts to the same standard as my technical analysis of a fantasy intro sequence – with the same amount of detail, explanation and images. This will assure a distinction in that area of the brief.

Acting on my tutor’s feedback in this way would allow me to achieve my target grade, and even achieve higher.
