Introduction.
In this lesson, we learned about camera movements.
Camera moves are simply explained as three ways to manipulate the camera to have an impact on the footage that it films:
- Translation (movement).
- Rotation.
- Camera operation (changing settings like zoom and depth of field with the focal lens).
Camera Translation
Translation is moving the camera on 3 axis:
Dolly (forward and backwards) – The X axis
Truck (left and right) – Y axis
Pedestal (up and down) – Z axis
Camera Rotation
Rotation is rotating the camera on 3 axis.
pan – rotating the camera left/right (around the Y axis).
tilt – tilting the camera up/down.
roll – rotating around the x axis as if you were rolling a ball along the floor.
