Grandfather Clock Challenge 2

Introduction

This session was dedicated to finishing the Piano & Clock challenge which was started a few weeks ago. At the end of the previous session, I was beginning to apply textures to my grandfather clock model after completing it.

In today’s session, I couldn’t find my Maya project file from the end of the previous session, and so I am working off of an earlier save in this lesson. Next time, I’ll make sure to save back-up files for my project.

Here is the re-modeled version of my clock, which I then textured using a wood texture from poly haven.

To create the clock face, I took a UV snapshot of the disc I used as the clock face and opened it into photoshop.

Here I added a stock image I had found online and edited as the face of the clock and filled in the other shapes with white.

Applying this to a standard surface shader and adding a smooth sheen gave me this, which I think looks quite good.
