Introduction
To help with creating a simple and effective website for possible networking opportunities and showing-off work I have produced, designing a website is important. To do this, I looked at some prominent portfolio websites and picked out interesting design features to include in my own website.
Portfolio Websites
The websites I looked at were for Paul Campion (a VFX artist that was featured in this year’s confetti Industry Week), Industrial Light and Magic and Weta FX.
These professional portfolio sites have a home page with the company/individual’s most recent work front and center.

They also have a header with internal links to the different pages on the site.
Designing a website
Here is a design for a landing page on my website – the first thing visitors would see is my showreel, and from there they could scroll down and view a portfolio gallery of my work. Along the top is a banner with my name, and links for the different pages on the site – a short bio and a contact form to send me emails.
I also added the scroll bar at the side just to visualise how the page might look on a web browser.

At the footer of every page would be icons with links to my social media, like the icons on the different portfolio sites that I looked at.
